For the 3rd night of Hanukkah I picked a couple so very special beers to review, both of which I was given my Peter of Simplybeer.com . This is why instead of limited this video to 10 minutes, I made sure to give his Coffee Stout and Pumpkin Porter each a full review.
Yeast: White Labs WLP001
Malts: 9lbs 2row, Chocolate malt, Roasted barley, Flaked Barley, Caramel 60L
Hops: 1/2 oz of Target Pellet Hops (12.1%), 1 oz of Tettnag Pellet Hops (4.7%)
“With a coffee shout you want to add the coffee after the boil. It is up to you if you want it in the Primary or Secondary fermentor.”
Original Gravity on this beer was 1.048 and I’m expecting it to complete around 1.012.
Yeast: Nottingham British Ale yeast
Malts: 9.5 lbs 2 row, 1lb crystal 60, 8 oz crystal 80, 8 oz chocolate malt, 8 oz black patent, 4 oz special B
Pumpkin Part of this brew: 32 oz Pumpkin puree, 1tsp whole cloves, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp allspice, 1 tsp ginger, 2 whole cinnamon sticks
Hops: UK Kent Golding, Cluster
Hops: UK Kent Golding, Cluster
Original Gravity should be about 1.062-1.068

Thanks for the review, pretty much the same views I had on them. I doubt I’ll be making the pumpkin porter again, not a fan of Pumpkin beers. But like I said it was an experiment.
